Comprehensive Service
What Is a Comprehensive Service?
Our woodwind and brass servicing in Wollongong includes the Comprehensive Service, designed for instruments that are dirty, unstable, or have recurring issues.
It is also required for instruments that have not received a Comprehensive Service within the last three years.
This service addresses wear and problems across the entire instrument, not just one or two localised faults.
A Comprehensive Service is the foundation of long-term stability. It resets mechanical balance, removes contamination, and restores consistent performance across the entire instrument. For many regularly played instruments, this level of woodwind and brass servicing in Wollongong is required every few years to prevent escalating faults.
What This Service Includes
A Comprehensive Service includes full disassembly of the instrument, thorough cleaning, washing and sanitising, and complete reassembly.
It addresses multiple leaks, worn components and general wear to restore stability and reliable playability.
What This Service Doesn't Include
A Comprehensive Service does not include major damage repair, heavy dent removal, straightening, soldering, or seized mechanism work.
If the instrument requires structural repair or an overhaul, it will be assessed and quoted separately.
When Is this Service Suitable?
A Comprehensive Service is suitable when an instrument has multiple issues, is consistently unreliable, or has been sitting unused for a long time.
It is also the correct service when a Play Condition Service is no longer appropriate.
Limits & Escalation
A Comprehensive Service addresses widespread wear and multiple issues, but it is not a damage repair or overhaul.
If structural damage or end-of-life components are identified, the service stops and the work is assessed and quoted separately.
Parts & Pricing Policy
The Comprehensive Service is a labour based service.
Replacement parts such as pads, corks, felts and springs are charged separately if required.
