Repads & Overhauls
What Are Repads & Overhauls?
Our instrument overhaul in Wollongong includes full repads and mechanical rebuilds for instruments that have reached the end of their usable life.
An overhaul goes beyond routine servicing. It restores mechanical integrity, replaces worn components, and resets the instrument to a stable, long-term playing condition.
What This Service Includes
Repads and Overhauls involve extensive work such as pad replacement, regulation, mechanical correction, and detailed setup.
The scope of work is determined by the condition of the instrument and may vary significantly between instruments.
What This Service Doesn't Include
Repads and Overhauls are not routine servicing.
If an instrument also requires damage repair, that work is assessed and quoted separately.
When Is This Service Suitable?
Repads and Overhauls are suitable when pads, mechanisms, or keywork are worn out and can no longer be stabilised through servicing.
They are commonly required for older instruments, heavily used instruments, or instruments that have not been overhauled for many years.
Overhauls are comprehensive interventions. They involve systematic inspection, mechanical correction, pad installation, regulation, and final setup to ensure consistency across the entire instrument. Because wear patterns differ between instruments, no two overhauls are identical. The final result is a reset of mechanical function, not a surface-level improvement.
Assessment & Quoting
Repads and Overhauls vary significantly in time and scope and cannot be pre-priced without assessment.
Each instrument is inspected before work begins, and the scope of work is discussed before proceeding.
Parts & Pricing Policy
Repads and Overhauls are quoted after assessment, based on the scope of work required.
Pricing is provided as an all-in service price, which includes parts and labour.
