• This mouthpiece is aimed at the cornet player who plays the trumpet but doesn’t want to stray away from the feel of a cornet mouthpiece. Its deep cup gives it a naturally warm, soft sound but not so much that it begins to sound “cornety”. This has not always been the case with crossover mouthpieces in the past, but this mouthpiece has got it spot on. When giving it a little more air the mouthpiece takes on a livelier characteristic, all the while retaining the lovely large sound it creates in the mid-range dynamics. This is a very adaptable mouthpiece. It moves through the ranges smoothly and effortlessly, but good support is needed in the high register. The low register is large and open. It creates a lovely clarity when tonguing. A superb crossover mouthpiece.

Alliance Brass Ltd was initially developed with the idea of creating a range of mouthpieces for Besson brass instruments. The mouthpieces immediately became popular and the range has since expanded to include Signature Lines by some of the most famous brass players from the world’s leading brass bands. Alliance Mouthpieces were introduced to the market in 2006 by Dr Roger Webster, who was Solo Cornet of the famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band at the time, using advice from some of the leading brass players in the world, including James Gourlay, Steven Mead, Jamie Prophet, Richard Brown and Lesley Howie.

The mouthpieces are renowned for their superb finish and consistency of manufacture. They have a warmth of sound, brilliance and an ability to project, making them ideal for twenty-first century bands and orchestras.
