As its name implies, Barkley Brazil’s Vintage ZZ is an alto saxophone mouthpiece with characteristics of old, darker and more focussed sounds. However, thanks to the materials and manufacturing methods used, this mouthpiece offers a nice balance between old and modern.
Made of fiber resin and ebony, this mouthpiece has a subtle touch of wood in its harmonics, projection and volume in just the right amount. Its concave baffle allows a firm and full sound with great projection, while its horseshoe-shaped chamber generates both more bass harmonics with mid-range accents.
