Description
Danzi’s clarinet reeds are selected and manufactured with great care and professionality in the Danzi workshop. They have a pleasant, rich, and very versatile sound. These reeds were created by Mr. Danzi himself about fifteen years ago. The main aim was to satisfy some clarinettist friends who were looking for sounds different from the reeds that were available at that time.
These reeds are perfectly suited to French-style playing. They are used extensively by professional Italian clarinettists and are loved worldwide for their longevity, great quality, and huge range of dynamics.
Danzi’s D2 Clarinet Reeds are manufactured with advanced and professional clarinettists in mind. They offer an easy response and a sound rich in harmonics throughout the entire range of the instrument. The reeds are made from completely organically sourced cane.

About Danzi
The Danzi Reeds workshop was born from the passion and great professionalism of maestro Danzi. Danzi specialises in creating reeds for bassoon, oboe, and clarinet in B flat. Maestro Danzi was the first high-level professional musician to create high quality reeds and materials for the sector.
Ovidio Danzi was able to achieve outstanding results thanks to his long-standing experience, which he gained during twenty-five years as solo bassoonist at the Teatro alla Scala Orchestra in Milan, as well as to his constant research about the physical and dynamic features of canes and the shape of reeds. These experiences led him to a reed production on a large scale. The quality of his products is renowned and appreciated by the best soloists and in the best orchestras in the world.
This enthusiastic and specialized research gave him the possibility to extend his interest to oboe reeds and, now, to clarinet reeds. A “Danzi” reed for clarinet has been designed, thanks to this years of research. The cane used in these clarinet reeds is sourced from the French region of Var to fulfil the most sophisticated needs of the best instrumentalists, as well as the ones of many clarinet students of all levels.
