German-made Josef Klier (JK) mouthpieces are characterised by the great volume of sound, a clear tone, and excellent responsiveness, along with the precisely calculated cup guide and back bore guaranteeing long-term satisfaction. The consistency of the mouthpiece series and the precise and distinct grading within the series allow the musician to perform in any desired style.
The K and M series of French Horn mouthpieces offer the musician the opportunity to achieve different sounds with the same cup and diameter.
The M series is distinguished by a brilliant sound with clear timbre. It is made possible through the rounder and flatter cup.
The K series, by contrast, offers a somewhat deeper cone-shaped cup for a more classical and darker timbre. The rims of these mouthpieces are also more rounded.
The exceptionally large selection offered by the Josef Klier Exclusive Line provides every brass player with the possibility to find the perfect mouthpiece.
The unique outer shape of the Exclusive series is the result of extensive research which aimed to find the ideal weight for the mouthpiece. It has established itself as a distinctive feature of the JK Exclusive series.
“K” Exclusive Line – French Horn
Notes about the chart below:
- This chart is for FRENCH HORN mouthpieces in the “K” EXCLUSIVE line.
- For JK mouthpieces, the “rim” measurement is the OUTER DIAMETER of the cup.
- To find the thickness of the rim, take the rim measurement, subtract the cup measurement, then divide by half. Example: for the 1DK mouthpiece, the rim thickness is (26mm – 18mm) ÷ 2 = 4.0mm.
