Description
The Taigor Smooth Tenor Sax Mouthpiece is a 100% handmade mouthpiece. It is made using moulds, then finished and adjusted by hand. As with all Taigor mouthpieces, the mouthpieces have been tested one by one.
The Smooth is a very versatile mouthpiece that can provide a brightness but also a velvety sound. It is built with a ramp (high deflector) providing plenty of sound projection. It is suitable for Pop, Gospel, Smooth Jazz, and Fusion styles, among others.
This mouthpiece is modelled like a metal mouthpiece, but the material used in this incredible mouthpiece is a combination of high mechanical strength resin and porcelain. It also features a metal ring, plated in 18ct gold, that extends from within the mouthpiece. This provides the Smooth with an amazing sound full of depth.
Porcelain is a material that directly influences resonance. Combining this material with resin and a gold-plated ring makes for a completely unique material, resulting in a unique tone colour. This mouthpiece offers a fundamentally strong, rich and deep sound.
The Taigor Smooth Tenor Sax Mouthpiece is suitable for saxophonists of all levels and is available in two tip openings:
- Tip opening #7: ~2.30mm
- Tip opening #8: ~2.50mm
Testimonials
“The ‘Smooth’ features a distinct medium to dark jazz tone. The metal inner ring gives this piece good response and a punchy sound with plenty of cut. The piece also has a fantastic dynamic range and good control combined with a very comfortable design that feels great in the mouth. As the name suggests, the ‘Smooth’ displays a fantastic smooth jazz sound with warm, mellow tones, however, provides a good punch and brightness when pushed in the higher notes.”
