About Nicola Mazzanti
Nicola Mazzanti is a graduate of the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory of Florence and the University of Music in Bologna. His research includes historical and scientific aspects, including the relationship between practice and musical performance, correct use of body including Alexander and Feldenkrais techniques, and the study of physics in the flute’s sound production.
Mazzanti has been piccolo soloist in the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra since 1988 (playing under Mehta, Abbado, Muti, Kleiber, Prêtre, and Maazel). He has performed in many leading European orchestras as well as touring internationally as a soloist and chamber musician.
Mazzanti is Professor at the University of Lucerne, University of Lugano (Switzerland), and at the Conseratory in Milano. He has given many lectures and classes worldwide.
