I chose this reed based on prior experience with a 1.5 version and a need to move up to a 2.0 but found the 0.5 increase too much. Fortunately Legere provides a 1.75 reed. These reeds beat bamboo reeds hands down in my experience and although expensive outlast bamboo reeds about 60 fold so the extra cost is recovered in time. Tone and consistency are very good.
